Torben was born and raised in Ingelheim, near Mainz, Germany. He studied Accounting, Tax, and Commercial Law at DHBW University, where he first discovered his interest in finance and business strategy. He began his career at PwC, working across multiple divisions in Germany and Luxembourg, and later focused on advising major private equity clients. To deepen his experience in growth strategy, he moved to South Africa to join Strategy&’s Performance & Restructuring team, delivering strategic solutions across industries including financial services, retail, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, and mining. Being a CAIA charterholder with a passion for novel ventures, Torben started a MSc in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at HEC Paris, before joining Activant.
